Same, even with the -* node, you can still create factions.

You need to unzip the jar, then find "factions.kit.fullplayer", then remove the "default: true" line, save it, then rezip it as a jar.

The "default: true" thing overrides permissions, therefore "-factions.kit.fullplayer" or "^factions.kit.fullplayer" doesn't work.

Just because a permission is granted by default through superperms, it should still be able to be disabled/removed. Others using different permission plugins which interface with superperms have been able to deny/remove such permissions, so it sounds like it would have to be a PEx bug you're encountering.
