Update: Since https://github.com/marimo-team/marimo/releases/tag/0.1.82, far larger files can be uploaded, 250MB for certain. I'm assuming this is related to #606. However, a 500MB file still files silently, and now I don't see error or warning messages either server or client side.

thanks for checking - we will fix this. we will likely add a sane cap (maybe 250mb or 300mb) so we can have a visible error message. and in future explore options for allowing higher limits

I made the limit 100mb (open to increasing it based on feedback), as well as added user error messages. in this commit
Long term we ideally, in addition to the current file upload, have a non-browser file chooser powered by the marimo server so you are only passing around file-paths instead of the file, to support larger files.
Will be in the next release
