I stumbled up on the same problem. To fix this error, make sure that an environemental variable called "HOME" exists on your windows platform and if not, create one such that it points to an arbitrary folder.

The error occurs because the python code tries to get the content of the environemental variable called "HOME" (check line 58 in the source code). If "HOME" does not exist, python returns a "None" type value which then leads to an error in the following.
