It sounds like an issue with C-States. Try to disable C-States in the CPU to see if that improves anything.
You should know the tablet will preform worse without C-States. But for testing purposes.

Mine completely died a few months ago. My guess is the battery gave out, and the unexpected power off events were an early sign of it.
