I've noticed the same, if there's a large number of operations to run through (think 50+ or there abouts) it's almost certain to fail with this error me everytime.

Very annoying for large projects that you want to sync with.

It's the same for me, it freezes with 3887 operations to perform.

I am able to reproduce this with 17 operations, on a directory structure with only empty directories (some of them nested) and their respective .svn directories. "\.svn" is on the ignore list. Tested on two entirely unrelated servers by copying the files over. #47 seems to have some thorough investigation that sounds awfully similar. I can zip up and send the troublesome hierarchy over, if needed.
