We're looking to do something like:

win --> centos (xrdp/pcscd) --> winTS

so our use case is app. 25 users (on win) all rdp'ing to a centos box, then pass the card reader (via xfreerdp to winTS. we have a working prototype using usbip since the current card read support for xrdp is broken. Before you ask the centOS box in the middle is necessary (think of it as a proxy server)

We have a prototype win version of usbip for the endcase. but when 25 users land in the socket. we feel there may be confusion on the winTS side with ActivID

hope that's kinda clear, but we were thinking if there could be multiple sockets on the centOS it could alleviate some of out concerns

I am not a user of RDP so I may ask stupid questions.
Why do you want to involve pcsc-lite if the reader is on a windows machine (win), and the PC/SC application is also on a windows machine (winTS)?

I also do no see why multiple sockets could solve the problem. Maybe we do not think about the same socket.
