Trash ~/Library/Application Support/Cog/Default.xml and ~/Library/Caches/org.cogx.cog.

Sorry, not working yet:

  • ~/Library/Application --> Deleted (it was an empty folder)
  • Support/Cog/Default.xml --> I don't find a Support folder at ~/
  • ~/Library/Caches/org.cogx.cog --> I don't see this folder

The command applied is not correct, because the space between Application and Support you have interpreted it as two different commands.
"Trash ~/Library/Application Support/Cog/Default.xml and ~/Library/Caches/org.cogx.cog."
There are two files to delete:
~/Library/Application Support/Cog/Default.xml.
Here you open your user's library, an Application Support folder, another Cog folder and inside you find the file to delete "Default.xml"
~/Library/Caches/org.cogx.cog
Likewise, in the user's library, a Caches folder, and inside a file to delete: "org.cogx.cog"
On many mac operating systems, the library folder is hidden by default. To get to these files, the best is the "Go to folder" menu (Shift + Apple + G) and paste the mentioned paths, they open a window with the mentioned file.
Which you can drag to the trash.
Once both have been deleted, try starting Cog again to see if you have solved the problem or not.

Funny misunderstanding xD

Only the first step was enough to fix the issue. I only need to: Trash ~/Library/Application Support/Cog/Default.xml

Cog is back.

Thanks so much!! :)

Ouch, again the same problem. This is what I do:

  1. I trash ~/Library/Application Support/Cog/Default.xml
  2. I drag & drop a folder with music to Cog (the music starts to play)
  3. I close Cog with Command+Q
  4. I drag & drop the same folder or another folder with music to Cog (then I get the error message of my first message: Cog won't open).

I've tried with several folders with the same result.

Before this issue, I've been using Cog during some time with no problems.

On ~/Library/Caches/, there is not any folder named: org.cogx.cog:

Please check if this is still an issue with the latest version. If it is, please trash the Default,xml file containing the last saved playlist, or at least back it up first. You can still try to load or add it to the player manually, using the add files option to import it as a playlist.

So far with the version Version 1348-g1aa9b5a01 (downloaded here: https://kode54.net/cog) seems to be working well :)

Thanks!!! :)
