@ethanwu10, thanks for the suggestion, you were right about it not being in PATH. Also, this article helped me find the right folder to add since I'm running GitHub Desktop.

I removed and re-installed git time machine and I have it working now.

Getting this error as well. Running Windows 7. Does this package require the full version of git? I have GitHub Desktop installed, which ships with a slimmed down version of the git shell I believe.

Chances are, your git isn't in your system path. If you just open a plain command prompt and type git, what happens?

I'm having the same problem, have confirmed that git is in my system path. The error message I get on ALT-T is

Error: Not in a git repository

@boxfoot, different issue - you are seeing that because it can't find the root git folder for you project.
