oh nevermind, my RHEL is a VM lab machine and wasn't properly subscribed to get updates and let install packages, thank you very much for you help, now the role worked properly !!!

What is your control node platform? What version of the role are you using?

Can you provide the journalctl output e.g. as specified by the error message See: journalctl REALMD_OPERATION=r183.3675? Or just journalctl -ex

@justin-stephenson does the reamld --membership-software work? Does it try to install the named packages? Or is it the responsibility of the role to install them? If the latter, then I guess this has been a bug for a while, and we have been "getting lucky" that the packages were somehow already installed.

What is your control node platform?
I'm using the ad hoc ansible-playbook to test the role

What version of the role are you using? version 1.23.0

[van@aap insert_domain]$ ansible-galaxy collection list

# /home/van/.ansible/collections/ansible_collections
Collection Version
------------------------ -------
community.general 5.8.0
redhat.rhel_system_roles 1.23.0
