Note that not everyone has good eyesight. Smaller things might work for you, but there are players of all visual acuities for chess.
Also, pasting parts of the Chess dot com UI will not gain you points here 😸
BTW, have you tried Prettier for Lichess? It's a browser extension that "modernizes" the UI. You might like it.

The menu buttons that I proposed are way bigger than the web browser buttons.
Also I've tried the extension but nah, something is missing.
