I wish I would not need to depend on KDE at the moment, but since Librum is using okular's core to render book pages, and okular is depending on KDE, Librum also has to depend on KDE.
I will be removing the dependency on KDE piece by piece over the next releases, as soon as an alpha release is out.

Also, I do not really expect someone to build KDE to be able to use the app. This, in theory is, for now, the only way to do it if you do not already have a KDE Plasma distro though.
Librum is currently only usable on KDE distributions. I will be precompiling it for other distributions and ship the binaries, so that others will be able to run it as well.
Once I managed to remove the KDE dependencies, there shouldn't be a problem anymore, and anyone should be able to build Librum themselves.

I hope you have seen the notice that Librum is not yet released.
Nope, I did not. My apologies.
Also, did I understand it correctly that you are not running on an KDE Plasma desktop, but you managed to build the KDE libraries to run Librum?
Yes, there were many packages to install, but it did build and opened beautifully and without errors in the terminal, except it lacked when it couldn't connect to the servers.
If you are interested in testing the application, feel free to send me a PM
I would be really interested! Thank you. I could also learn how the codebase works and learn more C++.

I am on the University right now but I will later today.

That's cool, thank you.
And re-reading my post I see that the tone wasn't the one I wanted it to be; it is just that when I tried to build it I didn't know just how many packages I needed to install from KDE, and each error cmake threw at me it was more and more list of packages I didn't even knew it had.
Anyway, that's how they say, premature optimisation is not cool, so optimise when you need it.
I will continue testing it (Arch Linux based distro) as you continue creating this application because it did look really good when I opened it, I just couldn't go pass the login but I filed a bug report on the website.

No problem, as a software developer I know how frustrating it can be not to get something to build.
I hope you have seen the notice that Librum is not yet released ("Note: Librum is still in development, the servers are not public, and thus Librum is not yet available for public use. A beta release will be available soon, bringing the servers online and making the application available to end users. " in the Readme.md)
It is currently not possible for users to connect to Librum's servers (this includes authentication), this is why you are not able to authenticate / register. The development servers are up and running, but the application is not yet production ready.
The servers will go online once the alpha version is released.

If you are interested in testing the application, feel free to send me a PM (You can find my discord and my email address on my Profile) so that I can help you to connect to the development servers and make it possible for you to log in, use the library and read books.

Great, then send me a message on discord ( m_david#0631 ) whenever you want to start.
