This is one of the main reasons I jailbroke 4.0-- Until Apple does SOMETHING
about notifications, and allows tethering on ALL devices, I jailbreak... So
please fix GriP to work on 4.0! Do we need to set up a beer fund?

Using a 3g with iOS 4.0, Preview notifications work fine, but texts don't
notify properly. Also, crashes when I try and enter any of the priority
settings.

In case it helps...

I also am experience these issues... Jailbroken via PwnageTool, GriP verison:
0.1-11r.

The push notifications do not work (but the "You've got Mail" plugin does work
and notify correctly.)

When in the settings app trying to configure GriP, preferences seem to save
correctly, but crashes the settings application when trying to edit any of the
"Per-Priority Settings".

I have verion 0.1-11r from iSpazio, but I saw that 0.1-11s is available, I
downloaded it, but still can't change width of notification and on this version
I didn't get any notifications, so I will back to the 0.1-11r...

Try changing the settings and then exiting the app without going back to the
main settings screen or previewing(i.e. slide width to full then close by
tapping home button).
I did this on my iPad and it now shows the messages with expanded width.

Let me know if that works for you.

@dirt bandito

your method works, for me on my 3gs.

so grip's preferences plist is located in /Library/Grip/GPPreferences.plist

i see a bunch of stuff in there but i cant remember in what order the settings
were.

later today, or tmrw, im going to install grip on my friends old ipod touch.
then i'll set settings how i like and copy the preferences file from her touch
to my 3gs and see if that works (i dont see why it wouldn't).

you can make other settings stick with this same method btw, i got the you've
got mail sticky setting to stay on never bc before the notification never
disappeared.

Yes, I also was able to change my settings by closing the settings app and re
opening it. However, the push notifications are still not working, no matter
what settings I apply for the push notifications plugin. Help, I absolutely
need this app to work, the built in notifications are terrible!

Ah, you've given me faith that at least the Mail.app notifications are working,
can anyone confirm this? My iPhone 4 is so annoying with the lack of email info
that I'm used to with GriP :/
