I think you have confused this plugin with LaTeX-Suite (see also here). None of the options you've listed apply to my plugin, which you would have easily seen if you had read either the docs (:h vim-latex) or the README.

Luckily I browsed bugs before starting to use this - I also thought this is sort of a fork/continuation of latex-suite.
The big issue is that latex-suite IS KNOWN AS vim-latex. The sourceforge-project even uses that name, you also link to vim-latex.sf.net ;)
Probably you could highlight that fact in the README.

That LaTeX-Suite is also known as vim-latex might be true, but it is no issue for me. I agree that I can update the README to make this clear.
