Thanks for adding this option! There is minor problem. When the "Preamble" is hidden in the TOC but there are \section
commands in the preamble they will still show in the TOC. This is essentially the same as #28. For instance with the following MWE I get what is seen in the image.

\newcommand*{\secappendix}[1]{%
\section{#1}}%
\begin{document}
\section{Foo}
\end{document}

Thanks for noticing. I thought I had done a nice simplification, but instead I removed my fix for #28. I think my latest commit fixes this.

Hi @lervag. I'm revisiting this after 9 years :) . I tried setting vim.g.vimtex_toc_show_preamble = 0
as in the image below but the preamble is still shown. Any pointers?
