How to specify collection about solr-node-client HOT 1 CLOSED

In Solr 3.x there was no concept of collection, we only knew the concept of core which is an index and few configuration files. With Solr 4.x, a collection is a set of core distributed across solr instances forming a single index.

In the Client object we have a property called core which is the name of the core.

From the point of view of the API, it seems that a core became a collection.

So this should do the work:

var client = solr.createClient({
 core  : 'nameOfmyCollection'
});

client.query('*:*',function(err,data){
   if(err) return console.error(err);
   console.log(data);
});

// And if you want to switch between `collection` with the same client
client.options.core = 'nameOftheSecondCollection';
client.commit();
