I found that this is related to the output of
ls -x /sys/class/net
I checked that
echo $( ls /sys/class/net )
may be easier to parse. (I figured this out from https://linuxconfig.org/how-to-detect-whether-a-physical-cable-is-connected-to-network-card-slot-on-linux).
$ ls -x /sys/class/net
docker0 enp0s31f6 lo wlp0s20f3
$ echo $( ls /sys/class/net )
docker0 enp0s31f6 lo wlp0s20f3
So after replacing
linux-wifi-hotspot/src/ui/h_prop.c
Line 236 in 613af3b
by
const char* cmd="echo $( ls /sys/class/net ) ";
I got the correct list.
