Week 5

Sorry for posting this so late. I had a crazy week and was trying to do as much as possible with the project itself. I will leave this here in any case to keep the record.

Check-In:

I Need Help With:

I think I still need a better understanding of the UI/UX development process, but I will work on that this coming week. Defining a problem and then creating a solution it takes more than I would have thought.

What went well?

My team was great. Most of the project went the way we expected it to happen and we learned a lot about planning and communicating.

What went less well?

The time was too short to finish everything. Knowing the amount of work a project will take is still unknown to me. I guess that's one more thing that will come with more experience.

Lessons Learned

Planning is key and timing can be a very tricky part of that.

Sunday Prep Work

I tried to finish as much as possible. Looking forward to the next project so I can apply what I learned with this one.

Week 3

Check-In:

I Need Help With:

Nothing so far. Just need to take the time to perfect things.

What went well?

I had a very nice team for this project. Everyone was committed and interested in participating in the project.

What went less well?

Passing checks has been tricky this week. Need to stick to certain things more consistently. (Syntax and formats).

Lessons Learned

Ortanization is key. For both individual and group tasks. Monitoring and keeping track of the progress is key. Sometimes is easy to get lost when you wait too long to do so.

Sunday Prep Work

Finishing everything the best possible way, sit down and re-think processes.

Week 4

Check-In:

I Need Help With:

I think it would be nice at some point to have some basic idea about design and color/font selection. I am sure it will come.

What went well?

I had a very nice team for this project. Everyone was committed and interested in participating in the project like last week. This time we are taking more time to do things in-depth and discuss some more about different aspects. It all starts and finishes with the user-personas. Then you need to sit down and consider what is truly important.

What went less well?

It feels like we have not done much, but at the same time, we have spent a lot of time trying to get the details right and build on top of a solid initial understanding of the project.

Lessons Learned

You have to do a lot of thinking and talking before even looking at VSCode.

Sunday Prep Work

Keep working so we can have some nice issues and a good-looking project board that reflects our approach to the project. Also trying to find the best way to unify the styles for all the team.

that'll be the next module, UX/UI Design. now you're getting the whole picture so you can put UI in context when you learn it

It all starts and finishes with the user-personas

and you're already a UX master. this is it, you understand what someone needs and you design it for (hopefully with) them. all the rest is elaboration.
