week 4

Check-In:

  • I Need Help With:

understanding flex design and css (this one hasnt changed from week 3)

  • What went well?

so far very good collaborative effort from the group. we decided to draw out the planning process, and make every decision together. we have been meeting daily and dividing work effectively and fairly

  • What went less well?

a few technical issues but nothing serious enough to hold us back

  • Lessons Learned

better understanding of agile development as concept and process

  • Sunday Prep Work

it is important to write a development strategy and have the wire frames ready, then we can start actually coding this thing

from home.

Week 3

Check-In:

I Need Help With:

understanding flex design and css

What went well?

communication across the board with the group. everyone is motivated and cooperative!

What went less well?

coding. issues with confusing/contrasting syntax. too many ways of doing one thing

Lessons Learned

trial and error. sometimes the fastest way is starting over

Sunday Prep Work

dot all i's cross all t's make sure we write a retrospective

from home.

are these two thing related? There's way too much to learn about CSS in one module, the project in UX/UI will be an individual one. So plenty of chance to focus in on the code

yes. i think i bit on more than i can chew. i wanted to make my header shrink when scrolling down. all the tutorials i saw on youtube said i needed js for that... except one. i tried it but i was just copying lines, not really understanding and finally it didnt work. i think i should just be more patient

you picked a good challenge. I'd say to put it aside for now and pick that up again in UX/UI, you can have a shrinking header in the home page you build

from home.

week 5

Check-In:

  • I Need Help With:

understanding flex design and css (now more than ever lol!)

  • What went well?

as usual excellent collaboration from the group 1 members. going to be tough letting go on sunday...

  • What went less well?

some issues with prs and resolving code conflicts. in the end we figured it out. personally i am having a hard time with reflexive design. there are a few properties for positioning, blocking, aligning and justifying. i dont know how they work and which ones to use in different situations. every tutorial/guide i look at says something else and it is frustrating.

  • Lessons Learned

the importance of making a detailed plan. the decision to take our time and plan more carefully is really paying off in the coding stage. we had to update our development strategy a few times but its worth it for the overall clarity and ease in communication.

  • Sunday Prep Work

follow the plan. make adjustments where needed. let go of features we will not have time to complete and make sure the project stands on its own and the parts that are there are function-able

from home.

give it one more week focusing on the group work. next module is a two-week individual project to focus on making something beautiful and useful

from home.
