Can you post some of the numbers on your wireless receiver? Also, can you
attach the .inf that LibUSB made.

In addition double check that there is a win32libusb entry in your device
manager.

Are you using an official Microsoft xbox 360 USB receiver? You're created .inf
indicates the Vendor is "Atheros Communications, Inc.", it should say
Microsoft. I would uninstall the driver (via device manager) an try to
reinstall the LibUSB part again.

For reference, this project will only work with an official microsoft usb
receiver.

i had the same issue.

uninstall all your other xbox controller drivers or open your services and stop
any other process/service related to the controller.

then double check vjoy is the only app running. type joy.cpl in the start menu
and press enter.
vjoy should be the only installation running

then relaunch wireless chatpad exe and it should work

ashoz, I'd make sure that the receiver is compatible with the latest version of Microsoft's drivers. What version of the Accessories software came with the driver disk of the receiver or did it even come with a driver disk?

Seem to have found a solution.

https://github.com/libusb/libusb/wiki/Windows#Windows_8x_Support

"Note that if you install the libusb-win32 driver manually, you will also need
to install the libusbK DLL, as all libusb-win32 accesses are done through it.
One way to install/update libusbK.dll is to install libusbk development kit
(libusbK-x.x.x.x-setup.exe from Sourceforge site and choose to update the
system files during the installation."

I simply installed libusK DLL and it seems to have fixed it. :D Now to figure
out how to speed up the mouse control and other stuff... xd Thanks for this!

There's so many things that have been causing this that we'll look into it
further. Mouse control can only be adjusted through the code, but I may add it
into the settings later on.

Hi all,

I have the same problem and i tried all your solutions, but the chatpad doesn't
work anyway. Do you have others solutions for this problem ?

Thank you for your work,

PS : I'm on Windows 8.1

It sounds like there's some cases where it won't run on windows 8. It is
compatible, it runs on my windows 8 machine just fine. This may be a libusb
issue. We'll look into this further.

I'm getting this same error on Windows 7 x64. When I try to install LibUSB, it
says that I need a 64 bit installer (which I can't find anywhere), and nothing
else seems to work. vJoy will allow me to configure a device, but when I go to
monitor vjoy my inputs on my controller don't change anything. I get the same
error messages when I try to launch Xbox 360 Wireless Chatpad as the OP.

Any ideas where I may be going wrong? I'm assuming it's with the instalation of
LibUSB, but I have no way to tell if it's installed correctly.

The 64 bit installer should be available through the link on this repo's home page.

Current solution seems to be to install libusbk in addition to libusb on Windows 8.1+ if issues are being experienced. I will leave this open until I can verify if this is necessary for a fresh install on Windows 8.1+ or only for cases where issues are being experienced.
