The error is harmless all it means is that multiplexing was not used in
that window, so initial connection in it will be a little slower. There's no way
avoid this because of the design of ssh, as there is a race in starting
up multiple ssh clients connecting to the same host all trying to use
connection sharing, and when you do so in launch, they are started
effectively simultaneously.
You can workaround it by using
launch sh -c "sleep 1s; exec kitten ssh whatever"
instead. Using different sleeps for each invocation.

Ok it makes sense with the parallel launch.
I've replaced the multiple startup SSH sessions with a single one + a key mapping to open more (and multiplexing works fine then).
Kitty is so flexible it's no problem to tweak like that. Thank you for this wonderful tool.
