You may have read this in the meantime:

It talks about Mocha, but mentions that any other programmable test framework can be used.

vscode/test-electron is recommended by vscode team. @koog1000 can you figure out how to start using it?

Tbh I don't even use this extension anymore because it isn't used at work. I also have 2 jobs at the moment so time is something in very short supply.
