What about adding a purge method in the Adapter interface? This metod would be implemented by all the adapters who need to purge data on their filesystems?

@lmammino Hmm.. cannot we add this purgein write method of Rackspace (so purge it automatically) instead of add new method into adapters ? How many adapters will have purge method?

I have two different configuration in dev and production.
In dev I obviously use local filesystem as CDN, while I use Rackspace in production.
For me is logical to trigger a "purge" whenever I update (overwrite) an image. Obviously when I do it in dev the local filesystem is automatically purged (it never caches), while in Rackspace the purge must be triggered manually with a rest request.
I don't want to use a dirty solution like 'if I am in prod purge' and I would like to have a more abstract one.
Anyway I think it could be a good solution to make only the Rackspace adapter to automatically purge when overwrites a file. Is possible to make this behavior configurable?
