Your issue might be missing a few files. As php like TS and JS is a dynamically typed language, LSPs really struggles with the "laravel magic" sometimes.

In this case, my guess would be that the laravel ide helper might solve your issues: https://github.com/barryvdh/laravel-ide-helper

Install it into your laravel app and run the thing, it will generate supplementary files with types based on your model definitions and your database.

@kauffinger the laravel-ide-helper breaks with the latest php-parser 5. Since I am a newcomer to this ecosystem I didn't want to force install it and potentially get into a messy situation with conflicting dependencies. So I am waiting for them to fix that, and will follow up on this when I get to install it. Thank you!
