After uninstalling plugin, unable to run feature files since Cucumber scenario file type pattern not restored about intellij-plugin HOT 4 CLOSED

To save others an extra click, here is the workaround / resolution:

*.feature is not assigned to any of the plugins. Users have to manually reassign the extension at Preferences > Editor > File types > Cucumber > File patterns

someone added info that is possibly helpful on stack-overflow, so I'm pasting it below for convenience:

Switch registered *.feature file type between Karate feature file and Cucumber scenario under Settings/Preferences | Editor | File Types | Recognized File Types

This way you won't need to restart the IDE because of disabling Karate plugin
