I use Apple QuickLook to view it. I always figured for generating stuff to print out, people would use PlantUML directly (as it's generally necessary to get the files where you want them in your docs anyway).
There is a plug-in architecture to support different viewers. QuickLook provided a, well, quick implementation for MacOSX. I could also pop it up in Preview. I had avoided this because I didn't want to leave autogenerated files around everywhere (as Preview has no good way for me to know when it's done using the file).
I'll see about adding a different keystroke to save the file to your Desktop...

A contributor added support for MacOSX Preview. It should allow you to save the file. This should be released today.
