Clearing the data sounds good to me. If we implement #26 we could use this title element to indicate that something failed.

Do we want a separate handler for just the title?
The quickest "hack" is for inspector to always resolve even if the language isn't supported and populate an empty variable table
With adding other information and context it should be clear language doesn't work (I hope)
