Does this work for arrays? It seems to fail on my system:
julia> a = [1 2; 3 4]
2x2 Array{Int64,2}:
1 2
3 4
julia> a[[false, false, true, true]]
ERROR: BoundsError()

in getindex at array.jl:327
from dataarrays.jl.
In Base, it only works if the dimensionality of logical array is the same as the dimensionality of the array being indexed (a .== 1
gives a 2D BitArray):
julia> a = [1 2; 3 4]
2x2 Array{Int64,2}:
1 2
3 4
julia> a[a .== 1]
1-element Array{Int64,1}:
1
julia> a[[false true; false true]]
2-element Array{Int64,1}:
2
4
For DataArrays, the following works, although it doesn't in Base:
julia> a = @data [1 2; 3 4]
2x2 DataArray{Int64,2}:
1 2
3 4
julia> a[@data [false, false, true, true]]
2-element DataArray{Int64,1}:
2
4
