OK, I just finished. Check out the jldpath branch and see what you think. As a bonus, now you can say
f = jldopen("myfile.jld", "w")
g = g_create(f, "group1/groupA")
and get a hierarchy all at once.
BTW, this is a really scary bug you found. Remarkably, I think the fix is backwards-compatible. Thanks very much for catching it.
