OK, change of plans. We will be doing this first. So Datalevin 0.7.0 will have a brand new query engine built from scratch.
We will not be using the Asami query engine, since it has a query API different from Datascript/Datomic, which I would like to keep. In addition, Asami returns lazy seqs so its performance is not as good as originally thought. In fact it is slowest among the alternatives if doall
is called on the results.
After an extensive literature research, I have come up with a query engine design that should reflect the latest research findings, yet is unique to the Datomic style EAV stores. This document has a sketch of the plan and tracks the work in progress.
