I have pushed a change (1.1.2a) that should address this issue, tested it on the global lab version, because I haven't gotten the error on na/eu version I will leave this issue up until I can confirm that this issue has been resolved.

I can confirm its still happening, playtoken seems to appear when launcher goes through processes too fast, usually 2/3 starts for me, so its either skipping some steps/replies from server/services.
