I don’t think that the image saving process is indeed the bottleneck.
The saving procedure is already asynchronous. A request message will only signal the camera plugin to save the frame to disk on the next onNewFrame callback function call.
Our client is currently blocking until a confirmation is sent by the camera plugin, although this might not be necessary. We can however still save the images in a buffer and only write them to disk after a few are available.
