You're using InstagramFeed with the syntax of jquery.instagramFeed. Should be
insta.className = "instagram_feed box"
insta.id = "instagram-feed-demo"
insta.textContent = "Instagram pics go here"
boxes.appendChild(insta)
new InstagramFeed({
username: 'myusername',
container: insta,
