Hey, my name is João Alvim. I’m a computer engineering master student with a love for programming and open-source software, to which I am trying to make more and more contributions.
I was introduced to programming when I was 10 in coderdojo, starting with scratch and soon after beeing introduced to python. Many years later, in university, I got the chance to be a volunteer there, teaching young kids! Also in university, I discovered haskell, and since then, haskell has been my go to language.
I started learning the harpsichord when I was 6, but two years later I changed to piano. I studied piano until I entered university. Now I'm currently attending piano jazz lessons.
As a musician, I feel that Haskell and Music have an interesting connection. Both have a very special relationship between expressive power and clean notation, making them perfect for abstract and artistic thinking.
