Hi, I'm a little late to the party. I stumbled upon your blog and this particular post, and now I'm diving into the Politics of Jesus.
Something I'm curious about is what is your understanding on forgiveness?
Obviously, given what you've shared about your life, this isn't an easy or simple question. I don't mean this in an authoritative or judgemental way. Instead, from a purely intellectual standpoint, your blog post covered a great depth of either Jesus quotes or quotes about Jesus; but arguably one of the most revolutionary Christian concepts of the era was to forgive and let go. Christ demonstrated non-violence, as far as I can tell, by forgiving those that hurt Him.
I'd love to know your thoughts, or maybe you could clarify if I missed something?

@Brickomusomus11 you're hardly 'late to the party'. Psh.
what is your understanding on forgiveness?
I grimace at the amount of 'from a purely intellectual standpoint' this link is about to dump upon you, if you click it. It'll drop you in mid-stream chapter 11, The Politics of Jesus.

briefly, I don't think you and I would agree on what the most revolutionary portions of his message was, but for a proper elucidation of the differences, if you're willing to endure tasks requiring english hyper-literacy and a working knowledge of academic-ese, the below link takes you to another spot in chapter 11, the second-to-last chapter of The Politics of Jesus.
this long second quote long quote, and the paper it references, The Apostle Paul and the Introspective Conscience of the West, Krister Stendahl, [PDF] covers my view on the topic, in an intellectual way. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
If you're interested purely in the tease, I'd click the second link, the it's the reason i copied down all of chapter 11
part. it itches the brain, in my estimation.
