Really like these ideas. I just think that using a tree with a method enabled?
like I proposed in #38 would be even nicer as it allows for two separate ways to read and write to/from the data. And it would have room for some logic that would make it possible to use different data types.
Sidenote on compatibility:
I don't think that we should be worried too much with changing the API as long as we improve it
from notifications-rails.
But as I said, I think we should think separately about storing/retrieving the data (using jsonb
, json
or whatever) and structuring it to make it easy to fetch (when testing if a notification should be created/sent) and update (when using a form)
from notifications-rails.
I like your thoughts about compatibility, and about considering data storage separately from the other concerns...
