Why not use css styles, with stylesheet??

The style attribute is removed so that it won’t conflict with other CSS transform/transition properties set in your CSS. You’re right though, it replaces and then (for non-reset animations) removes the style attribute.

One idea that has come up before, is storing any existing initial style attribute value, and just amending/removing the required styles. It gets a bit trickier with the reset keyword which handles the style attribute differently, but for the moment, this is working as intended.
