Why not try and use https://rubygems.org/gems/warranty-check?

@jhaals Will there ever be HP or IBM support?

@razorsedge I would love to see both HP and IBM support but I have no such hardware/serial numbers. I haven't found any API's for their warranty checks either. You are more then welcome to submit a patch that adds that functionality

@jhaals I have HP hardware (no IBM x86 gear) that I can provide access/info to. The above link to the https://rubygems.org/gems/warranty-check gem may give you some insight to the venor's API. My Ruby Foo is very weak otherwise I would send a PR, but I would like to help in any other way.

It would be great if you could verify that the HP warranty lookup is working and provide me with some serialnumbers to try it out.

I read thru the source of the warranty tool you sent me and it's using several external dependencies to parse the HTML on the HP site. I don't want to bring them into the module since that would require them to be installed on all nodes. This can be done natively in ruby but it require quite a bit of regexp and parsing. Back to square one, patches are welcome.
