After some testing I found that:

  • below 120,000m radius will give 4 decimal places.
  • below 580,000 (roughly) radius will give 3 decimal places.
  • Above that gives 2 decimal places.
  • Didn't test for 1 decimal place...

Oh no I just figured it out: the bigger your circle or area requested, the lower the resolution...
This is bad for my use case, I'm storing the data and the users can zoom in later. Any idea what size triggers what resolution?!
