@ernestoarbitrio I'm having the same issue. Can you describe in more detail what the issue was? Even if it's not a bug, this seems like a great area to improve the documentation. I created my certificate using this guide and I have three *.pem files: the certificate, the key, and a combined file. I have tried all three and I get the same error with each.

I managed to get it working as well. Thanks to this google groups post, I created a pem with this command:
openssl pkcs12 -nodes -out certificate_and_key.pem -in mycertificate.p12

This creates a combined certificate and key file that is not password protected and unencrypted.

Right, yes. You can't have password-encrypted openssl certs.

Yes, your method is ok! For first I've removed the passphrase from my certificate and so i've merged the two files.
