Hi,

Thanks for the info! I've tried a number of abstraction libs for
getting zoomooz to work on IE and other browsers, but so far I haven't
been happy with the results. I haven't tried them resently, however.

These use jquery.transform by Louis Remi:
https://github.com/jaukia/zoomooz/tree/jquerytransform
https://github.com/jaukia/zoomooz/tree/jquerytransform2d

This one uses jQuery 2d transform by Grady Kuhnline (heygrady):
https://github.com/jaukia/zoomooz/tree/transformlib

Would be interesting to see how css andpaper would work with Zoomooz!
However, at some point, the codebase for sandpaper did not look quite
as polished as the code for the other polyfills.

Hi,

I did adaptation work to make your wonderful plugin be completely support the subj. browsers for custom needs.

Unfortunately I don't have time to patch the source code, hopefully I'll do so some time later.

However I would like to summarize the changes for you, so you can do the equivalent work if desired.

  1. Use cssSandPaper http://www.useragentman.com/blog/csssandpaper-a-css3-javascript-library/
  2. Align sylvester between zoomooz and cssSandPaper (the versions don't match)
  3. Alter constructZoomRootCssTransform to collect -sand- prefix values for cssSandPaper
  4. Replace $target.css with a local function call, which conditionally applies cssSandpaper.setTransform
  5. Replace style.innerHTML = styleInnerHTML a local function call, which conditionally applies style.styleSheet.cssText = styleInnerHTML instead.

That's it. Please let me know if you'd like to apply the changes yourself, or maybe have in mind anyone who's going to do this work. Otherwise I'll try to find time to apply the changes myself sooner or later.

Regards,
Seva

Hi,

I would be very interested to see an exemple to use zoomooz with IE7 and IE8.
This plugin is sincerely wonderful and the only missing element is the support of these IE versions.

I'm certainly not alone to hope see zoomoos in action with this browser even just for the zoom fonctionality.
If seva could publish a patched source code, I fall in love with him... maybe not as... but i'll be very happy ;)

Regards.

Feel free to fork Zoomooz to achieve better IE support, I'm all for it, and if everything works perfectly, I might even be willing merge the changes back in :).

I'll close this for now, since I don't have currently interest in working on IE7-IE8 support.

Just stumbled upon this after almost 10 years... Hopefully, no one needs the support of old MS browsers anymore. :)
@TribS - hope I didn't break your heart and you have found your true love until now :D
