So. There's a bit of a self-imposed rule at the moment that CoffeeScript isn't allowed to add anything to the JavaScript runtime -- no special objects or methods are assumed to exist in advance. One you open that particular Pandoras box, there's about a million and a half things we would need to consider for addition. Leaving it off limits keeps things manageable.
Still, reading your blog post, it seems like your main goal is to be able to use switch statements as expressions. You can do that in CoffeeScript. Is there any other big advantage to cond() that we're missing?
