@jacanchaplais the code is ready for some testing.
I still need to add some unit tests though (1. check the number of particles before and after are consistent; 2. no duplicates anymore in the new object).

I created a new function that removes the duplicates in the network.

I collect all the nodes that have in_degree == out_degree == 1. I remove them and I add a new edge between the nodes that sandwiched (is this a verb?) it.

Doesn't appear to work. The generated mask is all True, so the input and output graphs are the same shape, even though the print statements claim to be removing particles. See my comments 2b1bae8.

@GiorgioCerro Would it be possible to split this function up so that the duplicate_mask() function returned only a mask, and then we could have a remove_duplicates() function which could then call duplicate_mask() from inside of it?
