Issue closed as this is actually working as intended..
By passing 2 Date objects in the show method, there is a chance to send 2 different dates (might be milliseconds). This is causing a crash (which is expected behaviour). By first creating a Date object with the current date and then sending that created object with the show method, solves this crash. Hope that if anyone else faces this, this comment can help you out :)
