Sorry, Kurt, I just updated those instructions but haven't updated the corresponding code in ipptransform yet. The current github code needs mupdf 1.8 or 1.9 - they made some more incompatible API changes...

Well, the current (1.12.0) release seems to be working. I'll push documentation for it but I think we're good.

and for good measure I fixed things for the (now more current) MuPDF and related packages on Debian/Raspbian/Ubuntu, including proper text rendering (1.11 has a bug that prevents non-antialiased text from working... :/)

hmm, i got the same errors.
Just installed an Beagle Bone Black with the latest provided debian 9.5 strech but after checking which version are available for libmupdf-dev, I've found that its not >= 1.11
apt-cache showpkg libmupdf-dev
If anyone hit the same error and has no need for pdf support. Just remove libmupdf.
The configure script is making a good job. :)
