what?? no x86_64 architecture??

amd64 is the same as x86_64, it's just some historical events that have caused these naming issues. Golang happens to use amd64. If we used x86_64 instead, someone with an AMD may have similar confusion the other way around :(

The better method would be to have the user run a script which auto-detects the platform and does the download for the appropriate binary, and puts it in the PATH.

I have a feeling i am doing something wrong.

I should've mentioned in that section that you need to put $GOPATH/bin in your global $PATH for that to find the command.

Please try again by using $GOPATH/bin/ipinfo.

yea, imagine most users won't be that familiar with go though that would have been an obvious thing to check. anyway, you are right. it works now so thanks!
