I don't think this is within the scope of what this tool does: "Install and debug iPhone apps without using Xcode".

To use this tool in the first place, you would have to already have a built and signed app (thus outside the scope of this tool).

The app is already built by using cordova build ios
However in a continuous integration processs, we don't really want to install the .ipa itself on a physical device.

So would be great if we can use this tool for creating the .ipa but not actually deploy it.
It will be installed/deployed manually by scanning a qr by the testers and developers.

Does it make better sense now?

Wouldn't be easier just to add --save path/to/new.ipa --nostart --nodebug since you have already all implemented in place?

This tool does not build anything, or packages anything, so it does not have anything to save. It just installs the .app bundle, thats it. I don't know where you got the information that it makes an .ipa file.
