Hi @1cg , good to hear from you! I've been following htmx pretty closely (we use Intercooler heavily at Instawork), and I've played around with Hyperscript too!

Specifically, I've been playing around with how htmx + hyperscript + web components can be used to create web apps. Shoelace plays well with htmx and hyperscript. I've been meaning to write up a blog post about it, I'll get in touch over email when it's ready to go up.

Hi @karneaud, there are no plans as of now to support Shoelace in Hyperview, because we have a different way of building components in Hyperview than the Web components API. But I do think it would be great to have an Shoelace-equivalent for Hyperview: a collection of UI components that work together to make building mobile app UIs really simple. I would certainly support a community project to create something like this!

Unfortunately it's not that simple, since the implementation is completely different:

  • Shoelace components are built with HTML and JS using the Lit framework and WebComponents API.
  • Hyperview components are built in JS using React Native, with an API defined here.

So any work on this would need to be in the spirit of Shoelace, but I don't believe it's reusable asis.

I know this is late but...what is the status of and its potential of Shoelace + Hyperview + Expo ? I am also interested as I am familiar with htmx and want to jump in to build mobile apps

@adamstep would the integration of shoelace be a simple matter of "extending" the showlace component making sure that any required hyperview class component properties/ methods are met?
