Dates handling is a good thing to wish. I'll consider this issue as the request for implementation of dates.
What's for enumeration, I'd really like to keep wash_out slim. WSDL consists of tons of features that I would not recommend using. Specifying xsi-enumeration as meta definition does not differ very much from checking data consistency inside of a method. I personally think that in Rails SOAP should feel as much as REST as possible. And this is step away from this paradigm. I don't like it. That's said I'm not up for implementing the SOAP completely since I trust SOAP is 💩. The goal of WashOut was to implement the basic required level of SOAP support to help carry it out when there are no alternatives. If something does not make a lot of practical sense (and that's important, a lot not just some sense) I'm -1 for implementing it.
If you have some time you could try implementing the Dates within pull-request since I don't really have a lot of free time right now 😢.
It would be just awesome!

Date support was added. I consider this closed. If you think we should have more typical types defined, let me know.
