Verified issue exists with 8fa09da
Manually setting COMPOSE_CONVERT_WINDOWS_PATHS still appears to be a workaround
set COMPOSE_CONVERT_WINDOWS_PATHS=1

I've added that (again?) to the sandbox.bat. You should be good to go now, without setting it manually. Thanks!
