This may be a Rails/SqlServer adapter bug. The adapter should supposedly cache those queries.

And by those queries I mean queries that are simply retrieving information about the schema.

y can optionally ignore any queries, such as

Footnotes::Notes::QueriesNote.ignored_regexps |= [%r{ INFORMATION_SCHEMA }i]

I don't know exactly, so far the app is fine except for when using footnotes. It seems to be the only thing that triggers this so it would seem unlikely the bug is in the sqlserver-adapter. Not impossible I'm sure, but it seems like even if it should cache those queries, there's still no reason to issue the same query hundreds of times. Although I doubt footnotes is actually intentionally creating those queries hundreds of times so it seems there is some bizzarre interaction going on here...
